English Gardens

English gardens are known for their beautiful green lawns, flowering shrubs and bushes, and climbing vines. These gardens often pack many plants into a small space creating a sometimes wild look. English gardens have lots of colour and greenery with plants crawling up buildings and herbs lending their fragrance.

English gardens are meant to be used and not just looked at. Include some stone or gravel paths for people to wander through your garden. Stepping stones are a nice alternative if you don’t have room for a full path.

One easily recognizable element of English gardens is the knot garden. An iron frame sets out the knot-work design and plants are placed within the spaces to fill it in. Colourful plants can be grouped in these spaces to make a larger impact.
