Water Gardens

Water gardens require a lot more than just some plants and water. Water valves, hoses, filters and treatment chemicals are some of the things you will have to consider if you want a water garden.

Whether you want a pond, waterfall or fountain, you will need a power source. Make sure there is a power outlet near the area you want to install your water feature.

Along with beautiful aquatic plants, you can also put fish in your water garden. For fish you will need a filter to clean the water just like an indoor aquarium. You may also need to bring the fish indoors during the winter.

Water gardens can attract birds, butterflies, dragonflies and other animals looking for a drink. Frogs and toads also like water gardens and provide the benefit of eating the bugs that may eat your plants.
